ArcGIS Desktop II: Tools and FunctionalityThree days Overview ArcGIS Desktop software is an integrated system that includes all the tools needed to get the most out of a GIS. This course teaches the range of functionality available in the software and the essential tools for visualizing, creating, managing, and analyzing geographic data. The hands-on course exercises emphasize practice with ArcMap and ArcCatalog (the primary applications included with ArcGIS Desktop software) to perform common GIS tasks and workflows. The tools for creating and managing geographic data, displaying data on maps in different ways, and combining and analyzing data to discover patterns and relationships are highlighted, and you learn how ArcGIS Desktop provides a complete GIS software solution. By the end of the course, you will be prepared to start working with the software on your own. More... ArcGIS Desktop III: GIS Workflows and AnalysisTwo days Overview Understanding how and when to apply ArcGIS tools and functions is the key to creating an efficient GIS workflow. Building on the skills and knowledge taught in ArcGIS Desktop II: Tools and Functionality, this course shows how to apply ArcGIS tools in a workflow context with a focus on working with data stored in a geodatabase and performing geoprocessing and analysis. In the course exercises, you organize and edit data stored in a geodatabase, prepare data for analysis, create and edit geoprocessing models using ModelBuilder, and work through a challenging analysis project. More... Introduction to ArcGIS ITwo days Overview Welcome to ArcGIS®. Here begins the foundation for becoming a successful ArcView®, ArcEditor™, or ArcInfo™ user. This course covers fundamental GIS concepts as well as how to query a GIS database, manipulate tabular data, edit spatial and attribute data, and present data clearly and efficiently using maps and charts. Participants learn how to use ArcMap™, ArcCatalog™, and ArcToolbox™ and explore how these applications work together to provide a complete GIS software solution. More... Introduction to ArcGIS IIThree days Overview Extend what you learned in Introduction to ArcGIS I with further exploration of ArcMap and ArcCatalog. This course focuses on spatial analysis, automation of spatial and attribute data, editing, and advanced options for cartographic display. A portion of the class is reserved for carrying out an analysis project and applying many of the new skills and techniques learned in this course. Participants conduct queries, perform spatial analysis, and present their results in a hard-copy map. More... Working with ArcGIS Spatial AnalystThree days Overview Explore how the ArcGIS Spatial Analyst software extension uses raster and vector data in an integrated environment. This course teaches basic raster concepts and shows how to use ArcGIS Spatial Analyst tools to create, run, and edit spatial models. It focuses on problems that are best solved in a raster environment such as surface analysis and distance measurement. Participants are shown how to use the raster tools in ArcGIS Spatial Analyst and learn how to build grid-based datasets. More... Introduction to ArcView (3.x)Two days Overview Begin your ArcView 3.x training with this conceptual overview and hands-on experience. This course teaches basic ArcView functionality and enables participants to quickly take advantage of the software’s display and analysis capabilities. Participants are introduced to the ArcView GUI and use ArcView to create, edit, display, query, and analyze geographic and tabular data and create presentation-quality maps and charts. More... More...ArcPad 7 for Mobile GISTwo days Overview The 2-day course will center on being productive with ArcPad in the field and understanding how to collect and process high quality GPS data with ArcPad, the Trimble GPScorrect extension for ArcPad, GPS Analyst for ArcGIS and/or GPS Pathfinder Office software. ArcPad’s integration with ArcGIS will be highlighted. Although Trimble GPS equipment and software will be highlighted, any GPS platform running ArcPad is welcome. You will gain confidence and the skill set to efficiently manage the mobile GIS work flow. More... ER Mapper for Geophysical ApplicationsOne day Overview Learn to use ER Mapper to process gridded (raster) datasets typically used in exploration such as magnetics, gravity, interpreted seismic grids, and bathymetry. Includes enhancements, color shaded reliefs, filtering, derivative images, map composition and printing, 3-D viewing, integrating multiple datasets for combined analysis, and more. More... ER Mapper for Land Mapping ApplicationsOne day Overview Learn to use ER Mapper to process raster imagery typically used for mapping, such as satellite images, orthophotos, topo maps, DEMs, and more. Includes data import, image enhancement techniques, mosaicking, reprojection, use of vector data, map composition and printing, tiling large images, exporting to ECW and JPEG2000 compressed formats, and more.
